Meal Times
All dietary requirements will be catered for and all meals and beverages, including formula milk are included in the fees.
Out of School and after School club have their own menu.
  • Parents/carers must inform the Nursery Staff of any known food allergies or conditions that may be responsible for adverse effects to their child prior the child attending/visiting the Nursery.
  • Children attending part time sessions will be provided with the appropriate meals as indicated within the Brochure.
    • Nutritionally well-balanced food is freshly prepared by suitably qualified staff, (holding Food & Hygiene Certificate), and menus are rotated on a four weekly basis.
  • Young babies just starting weaning are provided with a freshly prepared pureed suitable alternative. Weaning of young babies is introduced from the age of 4-6 months, with parental consent and instructions.
  • Formula milk and feeding bottles are provided by the Nursery, and given to babies as and when required using sterilised feeding equipment.
  • Cow’s milk is not given to babies under the age of 6 months in any form.

  • The Nursery encourages breast-feeding and frozen milk can be left and/ or the mother is welcome to feed her baby at the Nursery at any time convenient to her. Baby juices, cooled, boiled water will also be provided for all babies.
  • Meal times are encouraged by the Nursery Staff as a sociable, relaxed and enjoyable time. Children are grouped together in age during meal times and are served food within their designated dining areas.
  • Under no circumstances will a child be forced to eat food by any member of the Nursery Staff/Adult. All Nursery Staff/Adult will attempt to encourage the child to try to taste the food and if no progress is made then the food will be removed and the next course served.
  • Children behaving in an anti-social manner during mealtime may be segregated from the other children until they have calmed down. The child will then be returned to continue the meal, supervised by a staff member.
  • Younger children are encouraged to feed themselves in high chairs and at tables with assistance of Nursery Staff.
  • Aprons, bibs, facecloth's are provided for use by the younger children during meal times with older children being encouraged to use the facilities within their designated cloak rooms.
